#WeekInJustice: Week 182
A bit to my surprise, and much to my delight, we are in a bit of a hiring spree once again.
We had two new prosecutors start in the last couple of weeks, and we hired three more this week. And it’s worth noting that, three of the five are seasoned attorneys, so we just brought decades of criminal law experience in the door once again. The troops are happy, I can tell you that! We have finished all three parts of our “Water Safety” PSA campaign with the Tucson Fire Department and its making the rounds on local media. This week we taped the latest episode of The People’s Office Podcast with security experts from TUSD and the University and it made for a fascinating and instructional piece that will help parents and students be safe during the back-to school season.
Believe it or not, we are already drafting bills for next legislative season, up at the State Capitol. Our well-known cash bail bill from 2021 has been freshened up to make another try, and we are certainly very passionate about our Red Flag legislation, a law now in place in over half the states across the Nation and its very popular among Arizonans as a common sense and very fair way to curb gun violence and suicide.
