Amber Alert Program
The Arizona Amber Alert Plan was created
to provide a rapid response when a child
is abducted and the child’s life is
believed to be in danger. The alert has
already been credited with saving the
lives of several Arizona children. The
Pima County Attorney’s Office was the
first in Arizona to institute the Amber Alert Program. The Pima County Attorney works together
with local law enforcement agencies and media professionals
in an effort to ensure every
missing child is returned safely. Because of her efforts and leadership, Barbara LaWall was invited by the White House to attend
the Rose Garden signing ceremony for the PROTECT Act of 2003, which created a national Amber Alert.
